This is wonderful, but the problem is the old email servers are stil in use. So when I try to use older versions of TB ( Thunderbird ) to recieve email the first time it attempts to recieve the email, it gives me an error saying that the mailserver is stil accepting mail. I also have 2 other older Thunderbirds on 2 other computers, and I am getting the same exact error. The only thing that works for me so far is to use Thunderbird 6.

I am using Thunderbird 3.2.6 and had no problem at all while using the older version of the email provider. When I upgraded to the latest version of Thunderbird ( Version 102.2.0 ) and use it to connect to the same email account, I get the following error message:

There is a new menu called “Load mailboxes from this location” which will allow new mailboxes to be automatically loaded, but there is no option to “Load specific mailboxes with the old methods”, so you will have to load them manually by selecting the folder to load and then using the old button to open the folder. This makes sense and is actually a step forward in terms of allowing the user to see if the old folder is working, but there is no GUI option for this, so its not discoverable either. The lack of a direct GUI for loading mailboxes via the folder structure is another major regression. The new menu functionality may address this shortcoming, but if not I’m not sure why Mozilla hasn’t provided a way for users to set preferences to use the old folder loading methods.
The only positive aspect of the new feature is that it has finally removed the irritating requirement to confirm the exception every time you start a new TB.
