ESET NOD32 Smart Security [Cracked] [Updated]
ESET NOD32 Smart Security comes with an extensive security suite that includes built-in parental controls, encryption, secure-deleting applications, application whitelisting, and a content filter. The parental controls are a lengthy process, but I like the end result. You can not only control the domains, amount of time, and titles allowed to a child, but you can also choose which specific websites and applications are blocked.
You get full firewall, antispam, and parental control in a single product. ESET delivers the firewall technology and capabilities from its main line of products, plus the premium features and features that can be accessed only if you take the family package, though it is a bit more expensive. This means you get real-time protection on Web pages, operating system devices (including virtual machines), shared network printers, and printers on the network.
If youre looking to pore through the menus of ESET Internet Security’s many components in hopes of finding a feature that will magically make your computer invulnerable, youll be disappointed. Its not that you cant use these features: theyre just not obvious at first.
The most annoying has to be the network security component (see Figure 4.1). In a nutshell, you have to explicitly know when a website or other network resource requests credentials before youre allowed to visit that URL or launch a browser window to it. For example, if a bunch of 50GB torrents arrive in your downloads, theres no way to know a secure webpage is requiring logins. ESET puts a green padlock on the sites you visit, even when you dont need to login, which tells you that a website wants to use your credentials. We just wish ESET would either let you turn off the green padlock when it tells you passwords are needed, or, ideally, add an optional “Don’t show this website without authorization” flag, which would still show a green lock but prevent us from visiting the sites.
The suite includes three onscreen status indicators for its components: a blue dot for ESET antivirus, a green dot for ESET internet security, and an orange dot for ESET online security. ESET uses the first two for the business pages, the third for its online security component. There are no visual indicators for its firewall. Other than a blue bar across the top of the screen, a blue bar across the bottom tells you when youre running an active scan.
The suite has three main panel windows (see Figure 4.2). There are buttons in the left, middle, and right hand corner, each of which will open a different tab. The left panel has a “Quick Links” section, which lets you start ESETs services as soon as you launch the suite.
ESET NOD32 Smart Security Full Repack [Latest version] WIN + MAC
Compared to ESET Security, ESET Smart Security has fewer features overall, and those that it has are less powerful. It also lacks a few features that are more targeted to consumers, like the password manager and parental control. These features are available from ESET Live in the ESET parental control section, so if you use a PC for personal and business purposes it makes sense to set up Smart Security and take advantage of these features.
ESET Smart Security shares much of its code with ESET Internet Security. If youre running the latter, youll notice a few differences, like the Smart Security login screen. The program is as easy to set up as ESET Security (though a little more difficult than Google Chrome). ESET recommends that you download and run the setup from the site, as the program installs and runs considerably faster than from the installation media.
Note: As with previous versions of ESET, you can enable a live chat representative during setup if you have questions. But be warned: If you select that option, you will have to answer several personal questions before installation can continue.
When the main installation finishes, it invites you to set up additional tools. Like ESET Security it adds anti-theft, password manager, and other tools. But unlike ESET Security you can choose from a handful of presets, such as a 16GB drive. ESET includes a rather small selection of tools, and the ones that it does offer don’t provide any more security than any of the tools you could purchase separately.

ESET NOD32 Smart Security Full Cracked [Latest Release]
All this functionality comes at a price, of course. The 2015 version of NOD32 SMART is a whopping £90.99 ($130.67, or €115.00, at the time of writing), but it’s getting a free version, NOD32 Security & Business 2015, if you have a NOD32 Business subscription (no dates yet for that – they simply promise soon).
The free version is pretty strong. It has the same suite of features as the full version, meaning you can take advantage of all the reporting features, encrypt your data, scan Wi-Fi for a bunch of useful things. You don’t get the password manager or an encryption system, but it’s pretty good. You get two days of free updates too.
The suite is designed to make life easier for “enterprise IT” workers. It’s also great for home users who need more than their safe might provide. ESET Smart Security Premium is even available as a free (opens in new tab) personal edition that blocks most malware and that also provides a lot of online security such as parental controls for your family.
We haven’t focused on that in this review, but there’s a very handy new feature in the version we used called Static Protection. This lets you automatically analyse and protect your photos, music and videos against viruses and spyware. There are also early access features for a new PC health feature. Yes, ESET has a similar app, but it doesn’t do anything in this version.
ESET’s Live Technologies are all about protecting your system for free, though, which is why our test box is so full of apps. The free version covers four things, including a live firewall, general malware protection, firewall, and what ESET calls the ‘right to be forgotten’.
Premium gives access to everything in the suite, including the Live Virus Cloud (for new threats), Live Backup and Restore, LiveCloud Drive, Live Internet Security, Snapshot Recovery (for PC backups) and ESET PhishTank. There’s also Encrypted Media Extensions, to help keep your files safe. And for those of you who don’t want anything, you can just choose the basics.
Obviously, if we’re going to try to get the most out of ESET, we have to suggest all of it. You can’t get a lot without paying for it. Fortunately the free version covers a lot.
What’s new in ESET NOD32 Smart Security?
One of the good things about ESET antivirus is that the team release minor updates to the software regularly. Weve already covered the 2017 update, which, by and large, added a few extra layers of protection on top of the excellent 2013 update.
Here, we cover the new features in ESET Smart Security 2018 that release in the next few months. These features do include a few extra layers of protection.
Firstly, ESET allows you to set up a Device Remover alert. This will help you to identify all devices that you have not configured in the settings. This might help if youre suspicious about the devices on your network. You can add these devices to your Exclusions blacklist and avoid them downloading updates, malware and so on. A common mistake is to disable the Pending and Download alerts on your antivirus software, which is a great way to miss important alerts, such as a new version of the malware or a device on your network attempting to steal your information.
Smart Security 2018 also comes with a new Phishing feature. While ESET did include Phishing protection on its previous update, in Smart Security 2018 you can use the PhishID button to access information from real-time websites that are being used as a possible phishing site. You can then add these sites to your Phishing list, which could help you identify these sites in the future.
This tool will warn you if your antivirus software detects suspicious connections from a domain that is on a phishing list. Smart Security 2018 also includes a new Worm feature that automatically identifies malware in your system, and then creates an exclusion file that you can then keep all the time. This will help to keep your system clean and up to date.
Lastly, ESET Smart Security 2018 includes a new API tool, which means you can add your own application to the ESET antivirus tool. You can add in applications that will help protect your system from advanced, unseen threats. This is a nice feature for developers who want to push out patches to their applications.
ESET NOD32 Smart Security Description
You are looking at the ESET NOD32 product page, which currently has a promo price of $24.99 (though Amazon is selling it for $22.13).
Currently, ESET makes NOD32 the only antivirus that comes in a paid version that is user-installable on macOS. As such, we’re going to compare to ESET’s version of the same product running as a native application under macOS.
The macOS version of ESET NOD32 is generally free in that it comes with most of ESET’s built-in security features, including antivirus, anti-malware, anti-ransomware, anti-phishing, file shredder, stealth protection, device encryption, and on demand online updates, but it does not include ESET’s cloud-based full system and file scans.
ESET does offer additional features in its paid version of NOD32, including sandbox, firewall, web reputation, and email & instant messaging protection. And you can license a free license for non-commercial use.
If you install the NOD32 version on macOS, it will still run as a stand-alone application, but it will be an on-access scan. This is the default setting, but you can manually toggle to on-demand system scans.
ESETs macOS version of NOD32 has a few advantages over ESETs Windows version. The cleanest advantage is the interface. In Windows, NOD32 and the other ESET apps are rather ugly and difficult to navigate, while in macOS they’re all snappy, intuitive, and attractive.
The other pro is the Mac App Store. It’s a lot better than the Mac App Store of old, which filled your Mac with commercial software that you didn’t want to pay for. ESET’s Mac App Store is the company’s own free version of the Mac App Store.
ESET NOD32 Smart Security New Version
Since ESET doesnt really make any mention of the NOD32 trademark, I assume they license this technology from third party, though there have been rumors that Siemens only uses the NOD32 brand to market the software.ESETs latest version, which is a 2.6GB download, is called NOD32 Smart Security. The difference between the two is that ESET simply adds a number of more advanced features to the existing Network Inspector and Parental Control, including:
ESET NOD32 AntiVirus Premium comes in two versions; the New and the Retro. Both boast more than two years of updates and boast ESETs claim to be the worlds most-updated antivirus (AV) software. The basic package aims for easy-going users and consumers; it offers an icon-only interface. The top version, a version for everyone, offers all the features of the basic package plus enhanced parental controls. These include the ability to set online content and time limits for your youngsters.
This ESET installs as a Windows Service, and therefore, it runs at the background, and is visible in the Notification Bar. The icons are basic in design, and their features are outlined in a scrolling menu. All of the basic feature are listed and many are clickable, such as the Delete button to delete suspect files. The basic package also offers Virus Scanner as a scheduled task, another form of service so your machine will always be on the lookout for viruses. This functionality is present for both the New and the Retro versions. If youve never used ESETs anti-virus before, youll want to read the ESET Knowledge Base to get the scoop on what each version offers and how to use it.
ESETs new package features some upgrades that arent seen in the previous editions. One of the upgrades is a redesigned Help Center. If youre not familiar with the Help Center, it displays the web address and offers pages detailing features of the anti-virus tool.
Who Uses ESET NOD32 Smart Security and Why Is It Important?
ESET isnt the only antivirus vendor to provide malware and system protection, and there are plenty of options in the free category. But ESET is often an obvious choice for many users, and ESET has enough recognition in the security market that it can draw attention away from more well-known products.
But ESET isnt the only option for security, and that puts it in competition with other free antivirus products. Many newer users also see ESET as an affordable option.
Free security tools dont come with the same strong reputation or recognition as ESET, though some common free antivirus products are established and well-regarded. F-Secure, Kaspersky, Panda and Bitdefender are among the most well-known; Kaspersky is the only one we have seen earn the top prize from AV-Comparatives in previous years.
A few other popular antivirus tools are free, but require a subscription to use them. Sophos is one of those, and while it has a good reputation, it isnt free. Sophos is more expensive than ESET, and the premium subscription with product upgrades costs $129 per year. Sophos Protect Security is free as well, but is crippled to work in an unsupported browser mode. (Yes, IE is still a thing.)
ESET had about 9% of the paid antivirus market share in January, according to GfK, and that percentage jumped to 16% in July. ESETs Antivirus Plus ($45 per year) is less well-known than the ESET NOD32 edition, but it includes an anti-malware solution, security definition updates and more. ESET Internet Security and ESET NOD32, the options for this guide, are ESETs main products that offer a free option, and they run on the same code.
