Its easy to learn and there are lots of manual features that can be found in the options panel. We first imported a set of random colour swatches with all the pre-sets and built a style from there. For example we set the colour scheme to be mostly greens and browns. We also rotated the canvas, added a 3D box, and turned on canvas extent. Everything looked pretty good at this point. Theres also a tool bar of the tools Im sure youd find familiar if youve worked with Illustrator, although it does have some new additions, such as a palette of brushes that are pre-loaded with presets. Theres lots of options available when you right click on a shape which helps a lot if you get lost and dont know what an option is. There also seems to be plenty of options to brush settings such as the angle, pressure, and size of your brush. Theres a ton of defaults for things such as Fill and Stroke, Layer Modes and Opacity. For some reason theres also a little plus icon when you right click on a layer, and thats where the options for that layer are located. They are mostly located in the same location as the file in the layers palette. Which doesnt really matter, as with most things in the program you can always change where something happens in Preferences. And theres even more tools found under the tools menu. Again, most things here are already familiar to Illustrator users, although theres a few new things such as the Z Combo tool. This allows you to move, copy, and rotate the selected object and it even supports mirroring which is also unique to Designer. Theres a bunch of tools under the Layers menu which also do the same thing as the tools found in the menu. Most of the tools are pretty familiar to Illustrator users, although there are quite a few new things here as well. So far things look pretty good here, and again you can always find a ton of options that would help most people out. However, it is a learning curve to get to know the program. Its easy to get stuck looking around in the panel and thats a bad place to be because usually all the options are out of sight. We would go back to the options panel and see the tools we needed in order to do something and at this point it was all cluttered with a bunch of options and small tool icons. We were able to find the tool we wanted after a while though, and with a little practice, we were able to control the edges of a shape easily enough, even if it took us a while to find it. With the menus and toolbars we werent having much luck though. For some reason theyre all located in different places, and it didnt help that theres no pattern to where things are. It all looks very disorganized, and we werent even sure where to look to find what we were looking for. All of the toolbars and menus are actually little groups of buttons that seem to have nothing to do with each other. It almost looks like a chunk of the toolbar has been rearranged, leaving the little buttons tacked on, but thats the only way Ill describe it. Where as in Illustrator it would look like a related group of tools. For example, the selection and transform tools would be near each other, but in Affinity Designer Crack its just all over the place.
